FTE - £38,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience and qualifications

Summary

The Training Place of Excellence is a non-profit making organisation which focuses on offering quality Accountancy Training and other specialist training courses.

We are now looking to add a bright and ambitious Head of Centre to the team. This position would best suit those who enjoy passing on their knowledge and experience.

Head of Centre will report directly to the Director with responsibility to handle all administrative tasks at the Gillingham Branch. The duties include ensuring that the company is operating effectively, liaising with apprentices, Tutors and provide support for the smooth operations of the centre.


Key Responsibilities

  • You will maintain overall centre responsibility of the office and look after all aspects of Compliance and Office Management ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, GDPR, company policies and procedures etc. to achieve continuous improvement in customer experience and office efficiency.
  • You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the facility and providing leadership to the staff.
  • You will be responsible for managing staff members and, in the future, supporting the team's growth with recruitment.
  • You will ensure that the business is equipped with the best practice to foster a high-performance culture and a great workplace.
  • We are looking for someone with a proactive approach and a can-do attitude.
  • Maintaining and dealing with ILPs and Inductions for new students or staff; be responsible for setting out work schedules for tutors, learners and other staff.
  • Managing and reporting departmental progress in all areas to the Director regularly.
  • Maintaining and strengthening relationships with customers, suppliers & contractors.
  • Handling any first-line matters related to operations, personnel, health & safety and IT within the office environment.
  • Assist with the monitoring recruitment and leading the new starter induction process, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Providing guidance and empowering students and staff members to make effective decisions consistent with the company's culture and values.
  • Developing, supporting and delivering employee engagement across the business.
  • General administration, monitoring and ordering office supplies.
  • Being the point of contact for external visitors and welcoming guests.
  • You will produce reports and recommendations for senior management.
  • Interact and co-operate with all members of the organisation and responding to requests and queries when required.
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business

Special working conditions

The nature of your role will require you to travel within the area that your team covers. However, from time to time you may be expected to travel outside that area to the main office as the job role requires.


Mandatory Requirements

A DBS check at an enhanced level (formerly CRB check) must be undertaken by all candidates and be satisfactory as a condition of employment with The Training Place of Excellence.

School posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, 1974; all current convictions, cautions and bind overs must be declared on the application form or provided in a sealed envelope addressed to the Director. The 2013 amendments to the Act allow that minor spent convictions, cautions and bind overs do not need to be declared.

Summary

The Training Place of Excellence is a non-profit making organisation which focuses on offering quality Accountancy Training and other specialist training courses.

We are now looking to add a bright and ambitious ACCA/AAT Tutor to the team. This position would best suit those who enjoy passing on their knowledge and experience.

In particular the successful candidate will be responsible for the teaching/ coordination of our accounting trainings, and to deliver ACCA, AAT, Business Administration and Functional Skills to our Apprentices and our adult learners in small classes (of 18 learners max). An Accountant with practical experience and teaching experience will be desirable.


Duties including but not restricted to

  • Carrying out training sessions which engage and enthuse the learners using real-life examples and up-to-date teaching methods
  • Teaching accounting courses, business administration and functional skills courses
  • Managing the apprentices on the apprenticeship programme, including meeting with them, reviewing their tasks, assisting with their portfolios and ensuring they are exam ready
  • Assess and mark assignments within strict deadlines and guidelines
  • Managing and supervising accounting tasks delivered by apprentices
  • Maintaining student attendance records and grades
  • Multi-tasking and working within a small team to ensure team objectives are met
  • Carrying out general office and admin duties

Skills and Experience Needed

  • Proven experience in a previous Accounting tutor role at all Levels and the ability to explain difficult concepts in an understanding way.
  • Experience in the Apprenticeship standards at all Levels and the End Point Assessment.
  • Practical experience in an accounting role.
  • Excel at training, engaging and motivating learners of all ages and backgrounds
  • A background in accountancy and qualified to AAT Technician level at minimum
  • A1 and teaching qualifications preferable
  • Experience in delivering Functional Skills trainings is preferred, but not essential
  • Excellent IT and communication skills with knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Excel
  • Ability to work in a small team, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines, a high level of commitment and absolute focus on quality of work

We provide short intensive courses as well as longer programmes up to a year. Some evening and weekend work may be required from time to time.

We are now looking to add a bright and ambitious Receptionist to the team. This position would best suit someone with a bubbly personality who is always willing to offer assistance.


Receptionist Job Purpose

Receptionist will report to the Head of Centre with responsibility for handling and directing visitors to the business site to a proper department/office location. The duties include answering phone calls, letters, and emails and/or directing these communications to the correct department/staff. Making clients and visitors to the site feel welcomed and answering or directing all of their questions.


Receptionist Job Duties

  • Taking and directing calls, possibly through a switchboard
  • Completing administrative tasks like filing and delivering and accepting mails
  • Organising, and maintaining the reception area
  • Keeping basic office supplies stocked up and accessible to staff
  • Ordering supplies for the office
  • Signing in visitors and supplying them visitor’s badges where appropriate
  • Setting up meeting facilities
  • Arranging for catering for meetings and daily office use
  • Greeting visitors to the facility warmly and offering them help immediately
  • Providing customer support
  • Answering questions about products or services offered by the business
  • Answering questions about office hours and who is in the office at any given time
