OCR Business Administration

This qualification is ideal for anyone who is looking for a supportive office-based role. Students are expected to complete a range of compulsory and optional units designed to provide an in-depth understanding on how to be effective in the work-place.

Students are expected to use work place evidences to put together a portfolio and there are no scheduled exams for this qualification. You will be assigned an Assessor who will support you and work with you in completing and setting up your portfolio and generating the relevant work based evidences.

You can expect to be placed into an Office Administrator or Office Receptionist role.

OCR Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration units

The compulsory units are:

  • Principles of providing administrative services
  • Principles of business document production and information management
  • Understand employer organisations
  • Manage personal performance and development
  • Develop working relationships with colleagues

OCR Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration units

The compulsory units are:

  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Manage personal and professional development
  • Principles of business communication and information
  • Principles of administration
  • Principles of business

The level 3 units are more advanced than the level 2 units and these require a higher level of document evidencing.

What to Expect

In order to assess and enhance your employability skills, you would be enrolled onto the pre-apprenticeship programme. As part of the pre-apprenticeship, you will attend a mix of classes and the work experience program to gain relevant employment skills but please note the pre-apprenticeship is an assessment period, you will have a review meeting towards the end of the pre-apprenticeship to confirm your place onto the apprenticeship programme. This can last for 6 - 12 weeks.
